This artisan made matcha sifter comes to us from Tsubame City in Niigata, Japan. The dappled surface is called tsuchime in Japanese and is the result of hand hammering by craftsmen. Our strainer can be used for sifting matcha or infusing loose leaf tea.
Tsubame City has a history of craft tool production dating back to the Edo period, roughly 400 years ago. Known for its quality within Japan, we are very proud to bring this beautiful piece from an area with such a rich history!

Beautifully hammered and well constructed. I have searched for the perfect strains aesthetically for me and this is it. Thank you!
