Genmaicha is a classic Japanese favorite. The combination of Sencha and roasted brown rice adds a lightly nutty flavor to the clean, vegetal finish of green tea. The inclusion of Matcha in this blend adds a smooth and creamy umami as well as a beautiful green tint to the broth.

Shizuoka and Kagoshima, Japan. Our genmaicha comes to us from a family that has been processing tea in Shizuoka for generations. Working directly with local farms dedicated to the practice of Chagusaba farming (the pairing of natural grasslands with tea fields designed to enrich rather than strip the natural environment), they have been able to achieve a high quality of life for farm workers and stability for farmers.
